Itinerary

Meeting with the guide in Reykjavík, Iceland, before the expedition. Equipment check-up and final arrangements.

Day 1: Flight from Iceland to Kulusuk in East Greenland. From there a helicopter to Tasilaq, the biggest town in the region.  Final preparations of luggage.  Night in a guesthouse in Tasilaq.

Day 2: Charter flight to the Hahn Glacier on the icecap, at 800m (2500 ft) above sea level, where the expedition starts. Night in a tent.

Day 3 to 13: Slowly the expedition gains altitude and speed towards the highest part of the icecap at 2500 m (8200 ft).

Day 14 to 18: Crossing the highest part of the icecap and slowly descending to 2000 m (6560 ft) where we find the extraordinary Dye 2 radar station from the Cold War.

Day 19 to 25: A faster descent down to the end point of the expedition at Hill 660. This part is about 180 km (112 m) and is normally done in 5 to 6 days.  From Hill 660 we drive to Kangerlusuaq where the expedition ends.

Day 26 to 30: Buffer or security days to absorb any delays caused by weather, or other reasons.
