Inga's story

Ingibjörg G. Guðjónsdóttir.

Inga was born in the westfjörds of Iceland in a small fishing village and has always felt the best in nature surrounded by the mountains and the sea.

Today she owns a farm in the north west of Iceland that is slowly being rebuilt. There are few sheeps and horses on the land, and she loves cultivate her organic vegetables.

Inga has the talent too, weaving together nature, culture, adventure, and creativity into unforgettable journeys. With over 37 years of experience guiding on and off the beaten track in Iceland, and 25 years of professional experience in Greenland, where she has been to most of the towns in Greenland and lived and worked up on the inland ice with a scientific team for two summers. Inga offers rare, deep-rooted Arctic expertise shaped by decades in some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.

Renowned for being exceptionally organized, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to be with, Inga creates experiences that feel both seamless and personal. Her strong academic background includes BA in Fashion and a BA in Ethnology and Tourism and a Master’s Degree in Project Management, along with Guiding diploma and Wilderness first aid, ensuring every tour is rich in content and perfectly executed. 

As a Nordic ski instructor, she brings technical skill, confidence, and a deep understanding of winter travel to her guiding.

She is a knitter and clothing designer, deeply rooted in Nordic textile traditions, she also leads her specialized knitting tours and her Wellness and mindfulness tours, where she weaves together Creativity, Nature, Culture and Mindfulness in her own unique way.

She is also the published author of an Icelandic Edible Plants Cookbook, reflecting her profound knowledge of Iceland’s natural resources and culinary heritage. A devoted foodie, she delights in sharing local flavors, foraged ingredients, and traditional recipes with her guests.
